Today is a great day for the University of Freiburg: We are again a University of Excellence! We have prevailed with our institutional strategy in a highly competitive selection process. That pleases me immensely – and I am very happy to be able to share this wonderful news with you.
As a University of Excellence, we will fulfil our responsibility to society even more resolutely. Our aim is not just to provide answers to the big questions of our time but to spark concrete changes with our insights – for climate protection, for medical progress, and for a strong democracy. We want to engage in research that makes a difference.
Kerstin Krieglstein,
Rector of the University of Freiburg
